1st Miss Mureena travel test // Konjac sponge

First night in Hanoi, Vietnam. At a quality hotel in the beginning of the trip.

Konjac-sponge, imported to Finland by Hyvän olon maailma

As you might have noticed, I have started to write about travel essentials and tips for female travelers. This time, I was lucky to get some test items to travel to South East Asia with me because I asked a question without an answer; "How well will the sponge react to heavy traveling situations, such as humidity and storage during long legs of travel?"  I offered to try it out and report on the way.

This travel test started on the 28th of June (flight from Finland to Hanoi) and will end on the 1st of August, year 2014 (back from Hanoi). The sponge will be tested in extreme conditions during the monsoon season is Vietnam, Laos and maybe even as far as in Cambodia, depending how our 5 week schedule will form in the end.

The reason to use the sponge is my sensitive skin that still needs accurate cleaning after a long sweaty day when dirt will stick to the skin during the day. Every evening a layer of dirt can be peeled of the skin, face and legs being the worst.

I got my first sponge early this year both used and liked. The sponge is made of natural root fibers (plant name is Amorphophallus konjac in Latin) and the plant is also widely used as food in China, Japan and South East Asia. The sponge contains a lot of minerals, does not make my sensitive skin dry and can be used 1-3 months every day if stored properly. I always clean my face every morning and evening, therefore I cannot wait to see how much the sponge can take on a trip and will it then be a part of my travel items from now on.

Miss Mureena tests, for your pleasure.
